Private tastings are scheduled at 10:15am, 11:30am, 12:45pm and 2:00pm on alternating Fridays and Saturdays. Occasionally special arrangements can be made to accomodate those who cannot come in at the above designated times/dates. Please call for an appointment and we will do our best to schedule something that will work for you.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles? All of our cakes are custom. Couples may look through our photos of previous cakes and choose a similar design or make up something completely new to really make their cake their own.
Will you replicate a cake if I bring in a photo? We will do our best! Kat is expertly trained in developing cakes of all sizes and dimensions, and during your consultation we can better tell you whether we can match or come close to a cake that you'd like to have.
What special ingredients do you use in your cakes. All of our cakes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients.
How far in advance of the wedding day do you prepare the cake? Our cakes are made fresh (never frozen!) within days of your event date.
How many wedding cakes do you create per weekend? No more than four weddings in a day or five over a weekend. The number of cakes we do in a given weekend will depend upon contracted cake designs and delivery locations. We never contract for more cakes than we know we can make.
Will you work with the bride's florist to garnish the cake?Absolutely! Any cost to decorate your cake with fresh flowers is included in the standard delivery/set-up charge. If your florist provides the flowers, we are happy to complete the garnish on site with the provided flowers.

How do I place an order? You can place an order by telephone, email, or by visiting our store. If you are looking for a wedding cake or other large, specialty order we recommend that make an appointment for an initial consultation in person so that we can sit down with you and discuss the kind of cake you're looking for.
How far in advance do I need to place an order? We generally need at least six months lead time for wedding cake orders and four to six weeks for occasion cakes. During peak wedding season (April, May, and June) even those lead-times may not be enough so as soon as you know you want a cake from Kat's Cakes you should place the order and put down a deposit.
Describe how you price your cakes (by slice, by cake, by tier, etc.).All of our cakes are priced per-serving based on your choice of 5 icing options. Standard decoration and your choice of standard cake and filling flavors (including multiple flavors in a tiered cake) are included.
Does the price include the top-tier of the cake?Yes. We encourage our couples to serve the top tier of their cake instead of saving it. Kat's Cakes will provide you with a free anniversary cake to help celebrate your first anniversary.
Is a deposit required?Yes, all orders require a non-refundable deposit of at least 25% to ensure that your event date and time is reserved exclusively for you.
Do you offer delivery? We offer cake delivery and set-up. Delivery is dependent on availability and costs range from $25 to over $100, dependent on the distance from our Stockton shop to your event location.
What time should the cake be delivered?Based on our experience, we recommend delivery sixty to ninety minutes prior to the start of your event/reception. The exact time will vary, depending on your event location, weather and traffic conditions. We will do our best to work with your event site and accommodate your delivery/set-up needs.
What cake accessories do you rent out?We rent cake stands in a variety of styles, sizes and finishes. Cake toppers, cutters and other wedding accessories are available for purchase.
Are you licensed by the state health department?Yes.
